PUYA IS BACK!
On May 15th 2009 Puya's first reunion concert in almost 7 years took place at Stereo Music Fest, Puerto Rico Convention Center. 12,000 people showed up for the occasion.
On August 27th 2009 a second reunion concert took place at the Medalla Yellow Pass Festival in Mayaguez Puerto Rico with an attendance of over 60,000 people.
Currently Puya is getting ready for their last live show of 2009. They will rock on Nov 1st at the Snickers Urbania Xtreme Games, Juan Ramon Lubriel Stadium, Bayamon Puerto Rico.
After this concert the band will go into pre-production for their new album to be self produced and recorded with engeneer Isaac Sakko at Redemption Studio, Bayamon Puerto Rico, during the month of November.
It is scheduled to be released Independent on March 2010.
The band is pumped and writing some of their best material ever. The Ep will have new songs plus bonus live tracks recorded at their first reunion show on May '09.
In addition, the cover of the new cd will be designed by the internationally ranked tattoo artist Juan Salgado, Underskin Tattoo - Bayamon PR.
Along with the new Ep, Puya will be releasing a live DVD called Puya - Pa Ti, recorded back in March 2002 at the Tito Puente Amphitheatre. A real gem!
Today Puya consists of it's original line up, Ramon Otriz (Guitars), Harold Hopkins (Bass), Sergio Curbelo (Vocals) and Ed Paniagua (Drums).
Puya's return has made such an impact in their homeland, that unanimously the band decided this next album should be recorded in Puerto Rico.
