For fans both new and old this was a most brutal show to be remembered. The show included a collection of new songs that opened up listeners to a new level of Ankla. Ranging from similar tastes of their debut album, with soon to be mosh pit favorites, a few flamenco style breakdowns, even a song for the ladies which of course had swift transitions to metal, and of course the ever present masterful guitar solos of Ramon Ortiz. Right from start they opened with their most recent song "Persistence", which sounded even better in person. New singer Eddie Macias proved to be the man to fill the boots as the voice of Ankla, having great stage presence and interaction with the fans throughout the performance. Even songs played from Steep Trails ('06) he made his own. It is no exaggeration when i say that members Tony (bass), Oscar (percussion), and Pepe (drums) truly blew many a fans minds by showcasing their talents in massively brutal rhythms and beatdowns. Every single member got the entire crowd to throw up their metal horns in their direction. Especially in one of the new songs that allowed everyone to have a little solo all their own. Truly masterful, thank you guys for an awesome show. Until next time, Suelta el ankla!BONUS PIXintro to Deceit brought out the cuatro Eddie Macias Ramon Ortiz Guitar God Future plans for Ankla include a few shows already lined up including a headlining concert and their have been talks about a show in Puerto Rico and perhaps a reunion show for Puya, and of course a new album! Things are looking good for Ankla and their fans.
